Um…yes, it’s been almost a month since I have posted. SO MUCH has gone on.
1. I went to Seattle, WA for over a week to attend my former roommate’s epic superhero/comic book themed wedding (plus got to see a ton of family, friends, and cool sights).
2. I got really, really sick (so what else is new), and still am.
3. I found out that I lost a great friend, and I am grieving.
In any case, I had to look over my cell phone gallery to see what I have cooked since I last posted. I was on vacation for awhile, obviously, therefore my mama (and restaurants) did most of the cooking. I will say that my wonderful, amazing, beautiful, talented mother made irekukin almost every morning for my husband and I. She truly loves me. Also, my friend’s wedding reception was catered by Streetzeria and it. was. delicious. I think I ate my weight in mini pizza slices and mini calzones. Thankfully there were some veggies on the pizza, so I can claim it was “healthy.”
The last real dinner we made before leaving for the trip was a steak with a side salad. My husband has had this steak in the freezer, a nice cut from a butcher shop, for MONTHS. I decided to take it out of the freezer shortly before our vacay, since I was trying to avoid grocery shopping (who wants to do that right before leaving town?). Mid-day, my husband decided to stop home for lunch and wanted to throw together a marinade for the steak to sit in for the rest of the day. I emailed him 3 recipes (all included mostly things we already had at home) and he responded, “Got a bottle of steak marinade at the grocery store.” That’s a man, for ya! ;);) That being said, I have a picture of the dinner, but I don’t even remember the name of the steak sauce. I am a great food blogger, I know.
