I must say, this is a WHITNEY ORIGINAL RECIPE. I am so excited and proud of myself. Granted, it’s not super complicated, but who cares? I forgot to take anything out of the freezer this morning, and fish is the easiest to defrost quickly, and I knew I had a package of gnocchi (Trader Joe’s!) in my cupboard and thought I’d just pair it with alfredo sauce (also Trader Joe’s!). However, I realized as I started cooking that I didn’t have anymore alfredo sauce!
Directions for the sauce:
-Melt a few tbsp of butter in a saucepan over medium heat
-Whisk in 4tbsp flour, 2ish cu milk, along with a few shakes of salt and pepper
-Add a few shakes of oregano and garlic powder
-Whisk together until thick and bubbly
-Add spices, salt, and pepper to taste
Directions for the tilapia:
-Melt 2tbsp butter in a frying pan
-Season fillets on both sides with salt and pepper
-Fry fillets for a few minutes on each side until opaque
-While cooking, shake a few drops of lemon juice onto each fillet
Directions for gnocchi:
-Cook according to package instructions
Serve sauce over gnocchi alongside the tilapia. That’s it!
