Korean Steak

I have made this recipe twice now [thanks to allrecipes.com]. The first time, it was one of the most amazing things I have ever eaten, hands-down. I made it again last week, expecting the same. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed the second time around. The meat was different, even though I got the same chuck steaks, thinly sliced, from the same store [Central Market]. Morever, the first time around, I accidentally omitted the 5tbsp. of sugar, thus it was incredibly sweet this time. On the other hand, my mom loved it. So go figure.

-2lbs. thinly sliced chuck eye steaks
-1/2cu soy sauce
-5tbsp. white sugar [[but in the future I’ll probably use 1-2]]
-2 1/2 tbsp. sesame seeds
-2tbsp. sesame oil
-3 shallots, thinly sliced
-2 cloves garlic, crushed
-5tbsp. mirin

-Stir soy sauce, sugar, sesame seeds, sesame oil, shallots, garlic, and mirin in a large bowl. Add the meat, stir, cover, and refrigerate at least 12 hours.
-Heat a large skillet over medium heat; fry the meat for 5-10min.
